Escorene,Ñ¢ Ultra UL 00218CC3 is an ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer known for its versatility in various applications, including compounding, hot melt adhesives, injection molding, and wire and cable compounds. The product has a density of 0.940 g/cm¬= and a melt index of 1.7 g/10 min at 190¬8C under a 2.16 kg load. It contains 18.0 wt% vinyl acetate and exhibits a peak melting temperature of 188¬8F (87¬8C) and a Vicat softening temperature of 143¬8F (62¬8C). Mechanical properties include a tensile modulus of 6700 psi (46 MPa) and an elongation at break greater than 100%. The product is thermally stabilized but does not contain antiblock or slip additives. It is important to note that processing temperatures above 240¬8C (464¬8F) may lead to resin degradation. This product is not intended for medical applications and compliance for food contact applications should be verified with ExxonMobil Chemical Customer Service.
Base polymer in many adhesion resin formulations. Outstanding compounding makes it a material of choice for use in wire and cable. High transparency is a key attribute for photovoltaic cell encapsulation.
