Escor,Ñ¢ 5050, also known as Exxtra,Ñ¢ Adhere EAA8409, is an ethylene acrylic acid copolymer resin designed for applications such as extrusion coating, coextrusion coating, and extrusion lamination. It exhibits strong adhesion to a variety of polar substrates, including aluminum foil, metallized films, paper, iron, steel, and glass, making it suitable for diverse packaging applications, including food and cosmetic packaging. The resin has a density of 0.936 g/cm¬= and a melt index of 8.4 g/10 min at 190¬8C under a load of 2.16 kg. Its peak melting temperature is 207¬8F (97¬8C). The product is processed effectively at temperatures ranging from 260¬8C to 280¬8C (500¬8F to 536¬8F), with precautions advised to prevent degradation at higher temperatures. It is important to note that this resin should not be used in medical applications and compliance with food contact regulations should be verified with ExxonMobil.
Offers excellent adhesion to polar substrates without the use of primers. Applications include liquid aseptic and dry-food packaging, laminate tubes and cable shielding.
