Enable,Ñ¢ 2010PA Wire & Cable, also known as Exceed,Ñ¢ Flow m 1020, is a metallocene polyethylene resin designed for wire and cable applications. This ethylene 1-hexene copolymer is particularly effective as a blend partner in halogen-free flame retardant compounds and low voltage silane cross-linkable insulation, enhancing mechanical properties such as tensile strength, elongation, and tear resistance. The product exhibits good processability and melt strength, contributing to improved dimensional stability. It is recommended to add sufficient copper inhibitors to meet specific aging requirements in insulation applications. For jacketing, the inclusion of carbon black or UV stabilizers is necessary. Typical properties include a density of 0.920 g/cm¬=, a melt index of 1.0 g/10 min, and a peak melting temperature of 237¬8F (114¬8C). The tensile strength at break is reported at 4200 psi (29 MPa) with an elongation at break of 670%. The volume resistivity is 2.2E+15 ohms¬?m, indicating excellent electrical insulation properties. This product is suitable for various applications, including communication cables, high and low voltage jacketing, and medium voltage jacketing. It is available in pellet form and can be sourced globally across multiple regions.
Allows film converters to further enhance their business with more stable operations, improve line output and downgauging — in one single polymer for mono- and coextrusion operations.
