The EXHAUSTO EBC 8 Fan Control is used to control draft in simple heating systems where modulation is not required. It controls the speed of the fan to maintain proper pressure in the chimney. The control can be used with EXHAUSTO Models RSV, IPVB and RSIF. The EBC 8 is typically used to control the draft of a gas-fired water heater, boiler or furnace.
The EBC 8 is available in two versions; EBC 8-P and EBC 8-E. The EBC 8-P integrates a Proven Draft Switch (PDS) while the EBC 8-E must be connected to an external PDS-1 to provide the same functionality of the EBC 8-P. The PDS is a NO/NC switch that ensures the pressure in the chimney is maintained at or above the internal setting of the switch.
The EBC 8 operates a chimney fan or draft inducer at a set speed to create and maintain proper mechanical draft at the outlet of a heating appliance(s). The control provides a 10-120V signal to single phase fans and a 0-10V signal to a Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) for systems requiring a 3-phase fan. All EXHAUSTO fans operate with variable speed motors.
