The VME64x bus specification (ANSI/VITA 1.1-1997) is an extension of the VME64 standard ANSIVITA 1-1994. It defines a set of features that can be added to the VME and VME64 boards, backplanes and subracks. The major new features include expanded 160-pin P1/J1 and P2/J2 connectors, an optional 95-pin (2-mm hard metric P0/J0 connector) for more user-defined I/O, +3.3 V and auxiliary power voltage, plus more +5V power. The VME64x system is downward compatible, so that assemblies with 96-pin connectors to DIN 41612 can still be used.
