DuPont Protection Technologies Nomex® Paper Type 418

Description
Type 418 is produced by intimately blending mica platelets with Nomex®. It is available in thicknesses from 0.08 to 0.36 mm (3 to 14 mil), and is designed for high-voltage applications, including motor conductor and coil wrap, and transformer ground and layer insulation. Nomex® Type 418 has high inherent dielectric strength of (30 to 40 kV/mm) (760 to 1015 V/mil), but can also be readily impregnated with varnishes when desirable. It offers increased voltage endurance compared to Nomex® Type 410.
