This IC determines the angular position of a magnetically encoded disk. An adaptive, five channel IDAC biases five MR elements. The optimum bias and sense levels are determined by averaging the signals from four quadrature sensors. The circuit compensates for variations due to processing, temperature and supply voltage. This device has two quadrature outputs plus an index pulse to allow position, velocity and direction to be determined.
Features:
Supply Voltage = 5V
5 Channel IDAC (for bias currents)
Channel to channel mismatch < 0.5%
Range = 0.2mA to 3mA, 64 steps
Adaptive Bias & Sense Levels
1 Index and 2 Quadrature Outputs
Temperature Range = -40°C to +125°C
