A polarizer is a device that produces linearly polarized light from other states of polarization.
Glan-Taylor polarizer consists two calcite prisms which are separated by an air space. Glan-Taylor polarizers will divide an entering unpolarized beam into two rays; one is the extraordinary ray that is transmitted through the other side, and the other is the ordinary ray that is completely internally reflected and absorbed.
