Description
Adapt any standard VGA monitor to accept a Composite Sync (for SUN Workstations) This adapter is designed to split the Composite sync so that a workstation that only has the composite sync signal (no H/V signal) can be connected to a VGA monitor that only supports the H/V signal. Some older SUN and MAC workstations have the composite sync and don't provide the H/V signal. This adapter was designed to allow a VGA monitor work with those workstations. This adapter would not be necessary for newer SUN and MAC workstations that provide the H/V signals. For newer MAC workstations, use M5247 or M5250 instead. For newer SUN workstations, use M5297 instead. For the older workstations, since this adapter has the DH15 input, a second adapter would be needed to go with this one. The M5250 could be used for the MAC workstation. A special adapter would need to be ordered for the SUN workstation. Sync Input: Composite Input pin 13 Range: 30 to 150KHz TTL Levels Sync Outputs: Vertical Output pin 14 Range: As input TTL Levels Composite Output pin 13 H and V combined TTL Levels Connectors: Input DH15 Male Output DH15 Female Power:No external power Required Direct Input pin 9 (If available) Requires DDC-2 compliant card +5.0VDC Indirect Power derived from sync signal inputs Physical: Size 2.05"L x 1.38"W x 0.88"H Weight 33gm/1.2oz

Adapt any standard VGA monitor to accept a Composite Sync (for SUN Workstations)

This adapter is designed to split the Composite sync so that a workstation that only has the composite sync signal (no H/V signal) can be connected to a VGA monitor that only supports the H/V signal.
Some older SUN and MAC workstations have the composite sync and don't provide the H/V signal. This adapter was designed to allow a VGA monitor work with those workstations.
This adapter would not be necessary for newer SUN and MAC workstations that provide the H/V signals.

  • For newer MAC workstations, use M5247 or M5250 instead.
  • For newer SUN workstations, use M5297 instead.

For the older workstations, since this adapter has the DH15 input, a second adapter would be needed to go with this one.

  • The M5250 could be used for the MAC workstation.
  • A special adapter would need to be ordered for the SUN workstation.
