Optimized Engine
Certified Technology
Key features of the Pratt & Whitney PurePower® PW1500G certified engine:
Advanced combustion technology
Fan Drive Gear System™
Highest by-pass ratio of any certified turbofan engine in the world
Fewer stages and airfoils
The unique combination of the CSeries aircraft and the Pratt & Whitney’s engine ultimately delivers:
Reduced emissions
Reduced noise
Reduced fuel burn
Over 4,000 hours of rigorous engine testing have been conducted since testing began in September 2010 and 340 hours of flight testing has been completed in the PW1500G engine test program.

Advanced Flight Deck
Your Flying Experience
The CSeries aircraft’s flight deck includes large LCD displays, dual FMS (Flight Management System) with optimized control and display functions and RNP0.1 capability, dual CCD (Cursor Control Devices), datalink, Cat IIIa autoland and side stick controls as baseline.
Optional features include single or dual EFB (Electronic Flight Bag), Cat IIIb autoland capability and HUD (Single / Dual Head Up Display) to optimize flight preparation, operation and mission completion.
Two physically separated multi-function cabinets incorporate key system LRM (Line Replaceable Modules) to simplify maintenance trouble-shooting and optimize weight.

Advanced Technology
A Step Change In Technology
The CSeries aircraft’s advanced design, coupled with the Pratt & Whitney PurePower® PW1500G engine, creates an aircraft that is the perfect balance of proven methods, materials and leading edge technology.
Advanced Aerodynamics
This is what happens when highly advanced aerodynamics take an aircraft on a maiden flight into the future, delivering unprecedented optimized performance and sleek, cutting-edge design.
Computational Fluid Dynamics
State-of-the-art in Computational Aerodynamics combined with 21st century supercomputing capability, in the hands of highly qualified & experienced engineers.
Wind Tunnel Testing
Result in a highly optimized and competitive aerodynamic design, which undergoes comprehensive testing at the best wind tunnel facilities in the world.
Confirmation of design and validation of aerodynamics characteristics are obtained ahead of flight testing.
