Modern, Efficient and Productive
The Bombardier 415 aircraft is the industry’s benchmark amphibious aircraft and the backbone of firefighting missions around the globe. Launched in 1994, this high-wing, all-metal amphibian remains the only aircraft specifically designed for aerial firefighting. Its proven technology and fire-extinguishing power make it the most effective machine for the job.
The Bombardier 415 aircraft can also be configured for:
Humanitarian relief
Maritime search and rescue
Surveillance
Personnel transport
Superior Performance
With deliveries of 213 aircraft to more than 20 operators worldwide and with nearly 40 years of successful missions, the Bombardier 415 aircraft offers:
Outstanding manoeuvrability
Small turning radius
Steep descent rate
Low speed for precision dropping
Sustained Aerial Firefighting
The Bombardier 415 aircraft, also known as the Superscooper in the United States, adapts to the roughest terrain. It lands on unpaved runways, lakes, rivers and seas, enabling both rapid initial attacks to extinguish fires and sustained attacks to contain fires.
This world-renowned firefighter needs only 12 seconds to scoop its 6,137-litre (1,621-US-gallon) load while skimming at high speed over water. It delivers repeated direct attacks, with foam suppressant added to its load, without returning to an airfield.
Designed for Remote Operations
Simple to operate and maintain, the Bombardier 415 aircraft requires a minimal crew of two pilots. One technician can easily maintain an aircraft from a remote base for several days. The aircraft’s engine can be replaced on the water and its electronics are designed for simplicity.
Western Civil Certification
The Bombardier 415 aircraft is the only large amphibian with Western civil certification from:
Transport Canada
Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)
European Aviation Safety Agency
