Set a bold course toward the future in the all-new Gulfstream G600.
Only one aircraft manufacturer routinely stretches the possibilities of business aviation, and in the G600, Gulfstream delivers the industry’s next breakthrough with another ultralong-range aircraft that also offers best-in-class comfort, fuel efficiency and superior range at high speed. And the innovative Gulfstream Symmetry Flight Deck™ features active control sidesticks and touch-screen avionics interfaces, both industry firsts.
The G600 Range
Performance Optimization
Gulfstream engineers employed a straightforward design philosophy in the new Gulfstream G600: Combine new wing and airframe advances, new engines and a uniquely shaped cabin to move travelers 6,200 nautical miles/11,482 kilometers at Mach 0.85—faster than any aircraft in its class—without sacrificing fuel economy or comfort.
Consider it accomplished. The G600 has a long-range cruise speed of Mach 0.85, the ability to fly an unrivaled 4,800 nautical miles/8,890 kilometers at a high-speed cruise of Mach 0.90. Along with the Gulfstream G650ER, Gulfstream G650 and the all-new Gulfstream G500, the G600 shares a maximum operating speed of Mach 0.925.
Why does that matter? Over a typical year, frequent flyers will save more than 50 hours of travel time flying in the G600 versus other aircraft on the market. With an 18-passenger cabin, that amounts to hundreds of hours better dedicated to work or family and friends.
Efficiency is another Gulfstream hallmark. With its advanced wing design and Pratt & Whitney Canada engines, the G600 is as much as 23 percent more efficient than other aircraft in its class. The Pratt & Whitney engines are designed to operate 10,000 hours between overhauls and feature greatly reduced noise levels and emissions. These advances lower operating costs and ensure the aircraft will outperform environmental standards for years to come.
The G600 Comfort
Live Aboard In Style
Performance meets comfort in the Gulfstream G600. With a width of 7 feet 11 inches/2.41 meters and a height of 6 feet 4 inches/1.93 meters, the cabin is the optimal size and shape to help produce the aircraft’s best-in-class speed and fuel efficiency. Yet the aircraft is also designed to be as comfortable and functional as passengers’ favorite spaces on the ground.
At 45 feet 2 inches/13.77 meters, the G600 is the longest cabin in its class; it can be configured for up to four living areas, and in this business jet group, only Gulfstream can offer the option of a forward or aft galley. Even a shower is a possibility in the G600.
The uniquely shaped fuselage results in plentiful headroom while passengers move about the cabin. When seated, passengers have space to stretch out and get comfortable in the 27-inch-/68.5-centim
eter-wide seats. The divans and seats convert to beds for sleeping. Sturdy, adjustable-height conference tables add comfort and convenience for working and dining.
Gulfstream designers are ready to assist through every facet of the new cabin design process. The process affords more flexibility than ever in configuring the G600 cabin with the perfect blend of up to four living areas to suit the unique desires of any operator. The G600 boasts 10 individual cabin space options designed for working, relaxing, dining or sleeping for a flexible cabin design.
The G600 Cabin
Owners can reflect their own distinctive style as they select from the finest materials, whether hand-woven rugs or bamboo flooring, a vast array of colors and patterns for upholstery, or fiber-optic lighting in headliners.
On the technology side, high-definition monitors enhance business or entertainment. Satellite communications, the optional Broadband Multilink high-speed data system, and an onboard printer and scanner allow passengers to stay in touch with colleagues on the ground.
The Gulfstream Cabin Management System gives travelers fingertip control of lighting, shades, temperature and entertainment amenities through touch-screen devices.
Designed For Tranquility
Cabin environment also influences the travel experience. The G600 interior is engineered to provide a relaxing journey that leaves travelers refreshed on arrival.
A low cabin altitude—4,850 feet/1,478 meters at the aircraft’s maximum altitude of 51,000 feet/15,545 meters—and 100 percent fresh air replenished every two minutes reduces the effects of jet lag. The cabin is so quiet passengers can converse at normal voice levels even while in flight at near the speed of sound. The G600’s 14 large Gulfstream panoramic windows flood the space with natural light for an increased sense of spaciousness.
The G600 Flight Deck
Immersed In Breakthrough Technology
The Symmetry Flight Deck™ is another aviation breakthrough developed by Gulfstream, and this highly immersive, intelligent integration comes as standard equipment in the Gulfstream G600.
Active control sidesticks eliminate traditional pedestal-based yokes, creating more space and better comfort for pilots. Each sidestick mimics any movement the other pilot makes on his or her sidestick, providing another element of situational awareness from the visual and tactile cue of the other pilot’s actions.
The 10 touch-screen interfaces vastly reduce the number of switches on the flight deck, and each tablet is easily interchangeable in flight for greater reliability. The software behind the tablet controllers incorporates Phase-of-Flight™ intelligence, a Gulfstream-developed technology that structures input options so they display only the tasks appropriate at that phase of flight. These advances further reduce pilot workload and enhance safety.
Ergonomics was another priority in the G600’s flight deck design. Swiveling crew seats made from perforated leather increase comfort and provide better ease of movement. Style gets an upgrade, too. Leather and brushed nickel grace the pilots’ work space, extending sophistication from the cabin to the flight deck.
Better Vision. Safer Flight
The G600 comes equipped with the latest generation of Gulfstream’s Enhanced Vision System. The new EVS boosts the resolution of the infrared sensor by 400 percent and expands the camera’s field of view for better imaging in low-visibility conditions. The EVS is linked to a head-up display that projects the EVS view onto a transparent screen in the pilot’s forward field of vision. A Synthetic Vision System produces artificial images of terrain, obstacles, runways and approaches on the primary flight display.
The G600 incorporates the latest refinements in computer-controlled systems. The Intelligence-by-Wire
™ flight system provides highly calibrated flight controls, autothrottles and autobrakes to ensure peak engine performance and smoother, safer landings.
The G600's Data Concentration Network infrastructure lines the airframe with technology that significantly reduces cables and parts. The DCN provides greater redundancy and safety as well as easier maintainability.
