The SABMBOVP221 is a precision dual over-voltage protection printed circuit board populated with an ALD910021SALI SAB MOSFET IC, designed for automatic voltage balancing of series-connected supercapacitors. It measures 0.6 in by 1.6 in with mounting holes and operates over the industrial temperature range of -40°C to +85°C. The board features two matched OVP circuits with a threshold voltage of 2.10 V, providing near-zero power dissipation belowthreshold and up to 100 mA clamp current above threshold with a dI/dV of approximately 3 mA/mV. It is RoHS compliant and supports daisy-chaining for higher voltage stacks.
ALD offers a line of Supercapacitor Auto Balancing Integrated Circuits (IC) as well as SAB and SABOVP (Over-Voltage Protection) Printed Circuit Boards (PCB). The SABOVP PCBs provide voltage balancing of series-connected supercapacitors through superior over-voltage clamping circuitry. These products, when used in appropriately designed applications, dissipate near-zero leakage currents, practically eliminating extra power dissipation. Supercapacitors connected in series stacks can be balanced with various combinations of multiple cascaded SABMB or SABMBOVP packages.
