The FY Series consists of fabricated Y strainers designed for use in process, power, chemical, oil and gas, and water and waste applications, handling pressures up to 6170 PSIG and temperatures up to 800°F. Constructed from ductile iron, carbon steel, stainless steel, or other materials, they feature perforated 304 stainless steel screens as standard and include a bolted cover with a drain plug. End connections include threaded (NPT), socketweld, buttweld, flat face, raised face, and RTJ flanged, compliant with ASME B16.34 and B16.5. The strainers are certified to ASME B31.1, B31.3, B31.4, and Section VIII, Div. 1, with U-stamping available. Standard sizes range from 2 to 24 inches, with open area ratios between 2.6 and 4.6 depending on size. Installation is permissible in horizontal or vertical orientations.
The ACME Y type Strainer is the most cost effective, Y strainer uses perforated wire mesh or wedge wire to trap unwanted solids from a process stream. Y strainer can be mounted vertically or horizontally in a piping system Strainers are low-cost solutions to large nominal bore straining requirements.
