Historically, deburring and material removal has largely been a manual operation due to the limitations of previously available automated deburring tools. Conventional automated deburring tools can perform adequately along a straight edge or surface, with little or no compliance for cavities or protrusions, but these tools ultimately fail when part tolerances or paths are not exact. The Engineers at ATI have developed three types of compliant deburring tools that make automated deburring cells a safe, consistent, and economical process.
Ideally suited for removal of parting lines and flash on parts.
Quiet Turbine motor with clean air (no oil) requires less air and can be vented to atmosphere.
Unit also deburrs edges, significantly reduces cycle time.
Built-in compliance reduces robot programming Cutting force adjustable on-the-fly.
Compliance travel 0.2 along one axis.
Mounts to robot arm on rear or side of deburring unit.
Utilizes standard tungsten-carbide industrial bits.
Minimal chattering and vibration.
Great replacement for hand deburring operations.
