Composition Materials Co., Inc. Walnut Shell AD-6B (18/40)

Description
Composition Materials pioneered Walnut Shell Grit Blasting media with the US Navy in the 1950's. Aircraft carriers and submarines were stripped of only their top coats, leaving the expensive undercoats undisturbed. Prior to the introduction of walnut shell blasting, coatings were removed down to bare metal requiring the replacement of the undercoat, the vinyl coat, and the top coat. The idea of SELECTIVE COATING REMOVAL with walnut shells originated here and saved the Navy both time & money. With our partner SHELLPRO's acquisition of Agrashell in 2002, they became the largest manufacturer of walnut shell products and we became the largest supplier of walnut shells in the world. Our consulting service is available to you regarding the use of Walnut Shell Grit, Plasti-Grit, or other members of our SOFT ABRASIVE family of products.
