Semiconductor and photovoltaic manufactures are increasing yields by adopting new materials including ultra-pure, Pyroid^® pyrolytic carbon coatings on traditional graphite that provide high density, strength and hardness along with very low porosity that is virtually impermeable to fluids and gases. The resulting benefits include wafer consistency due to uniform surface temperatures.
