3M,Ñ¢ Scotch-Weld,Ñ¢ Void Filling and Edge Sealing Compound EC-3524 B/A is a two-part flame retardant epoxy designed for applications in aircraft maintenance. It is available in blue or off-white colors when mixed and cures to a strong, low-density material within 48 hours at 75¬8F (24¬8C). The compound features thixotropic properties for ease of application and can be sanded within three hours of mixing. It meets the flammability requirements of F.A.R. 25.853 (a) and (b), demonstrating self-extinguishing characteristics. The mixing ratio is 100 parts of Part A to 94 parts of Part B by weight, and the work life of the mixed material is approximately 1.5 hours. Typical performance data indicates a compressive strength of 2200 psi at 75¬8F (24¬8C) and a density range of 29.3 to 31.2 lbs./ft¬=.
