The GPX Gasketed Plate and Frame Heat Exchanger from Xylem is designed for high efficiency and compactness, utilizing innovative plate technology that allows for significant heat transfer with reduced surface area compared to conventional shell and tube designs. It features a modular design that facilitates easy installation, inspection, and maintenance, with no special tools required for tightening the plate pack. The heat exchanger supports maximum flow rates of up to 18,000 GPM and a heat transfer area of up to 20,000 square feet, making it suitable for a wide range of applications.
Constructed from various materials including 304 or 316 stainless steel, titanium, and Hastelloy, the GPX line offers flexibility in plate construction and connection types, accommodating both standard threaded and studded connections. The design supports operating pressures up to 450 psi and temperatures ranging from -31°F to 338°F. The GPX heat exchangers are compliant with multiple industry standards, including AHRI Standard 400 and ASME Section VIII, ensuring reliability and safety in various operational environments.
“GPX” heat exchangers are of a gasketed plate pack design. Some features and benefits of this design are its small size, light weight and high efficiency in transferring heat with either large or small fluid temperature differences. Design produces high turbulence resulting in high heat transfer coefficients, full counterflow of hot and cold fluids, and low fouling – which means minimum surface area requirement. Flows from 10 GPM to 10,500 GPM. Eleven plate sizes available to meet a wide variety of applications.
