The GPX Gasketed Plate and Frame Heat Exchanger from Bell & Gossett is designed for high efficiency and compactness, utilizing innovative plate technology that allows for superior heat transfer with significantly less surface area compared to traditional shell and tube heat exchangers. It features a modular design that facilitates easy installation, inspection, and maintenance, with options for various plate construction materials including stainless steel, titanium, and Hastelloy. The unit supports maximum flow rates of up to 18,000 GPM and heat transfer areas of up to 20,000 square feet. It is capable of operating under design pressures of 150 psi to 300 psi, with options for up to 450 psi, and can handle temperatures ranging from -31¬8F to 338¬8F. The GPX also offers multiple connection types, including NPT and ANSI studded connections, which enhance its adaptability for different applications.
“GPX” heat exchangers are of a gasketed plate pack design. Some features and benefits of this design are its small size, light weight and high efficiency in transferring heat with either large or small fluid temperature differences. Design produces high turbulence resulting in high heat transfer coefficients, full counterflow of hot and cold fluids, and low fouling – which means minimum surface area requirement. Flows from 10 GPM to 10,500 GPM. Eleven plate sizes available to meet a wide variety of applications.
