Self-aligning ball bearings are double row ball bearings comprising outer rings with spherical raceway, inner rings and ball and cage assemblies. Self-aligning ball bearings are self-aligning and insensitive to shaft deflections and angular misalignment between the shaft and housing. Due to the spherical raceway, the contact angle of misalignment is approximately 4 – 7 degrees. Therefore, the axial load capacity is low, and they are suitable for low to medium radial loads.
