Watts Ductile Iron Pressure Sustaining or Backpressure Control Valve with Hydraulic Check Feature LF920GD-01

Description
Designed to permit flow when upstream pressure is above the adjustable setpoint of the control pilot, and throttle when upstream pressure falls below the adjustable setpoint. The valve closes drip-tight when downstream pressure becomes greater than upstream pressure. When installed "in line" on the discharge of a pump, the valve acts as Backpressure Control and Check Valve. When pump discharge pressure falls below the pilot setting the valve throttles to increase backpressure against the pump. When the pump is turned off, the valve acts as a Hydraulic Check Valve, preventing reverse flow. When installed "in line" connecting two distribution zones, the valve acts as a Pressure Sustaining Control Valve. When upstream pressure falls below the pilot setting the valve throttles to sustain pressure in the upstream zone, and closes drip-tight when downstream pressure becomes greater than upstream pressure.

The LF920GD-01 is a Ductile Iron Pressure Sustaining or Backpressure Control Valve with a Hydraulic Check Feature, designed for efficient flow management in various applications. Constructed from ductile iron (ASTM A536) with a fusion-bonded epoxy coating, it ensures durability and resistance to corrosion. The valve features a single chamber design with a one-piece disc and diaphragm assembly, which allows for precise modulation of flow based on upstream pressure conditions. This valve operates effectively at a maximum pressure of 250 psi for 150 flanged connections and 400 psi for 300 flanged connections. It supports a range of operating temperatures depending on the elastomer used, with Buna-N rated for up to 160¬8F, EPDM for 300¬8F, and Viton for 250¬8F. The LF920GD-01 is suitable for applications requiring both pressure sustaining and backpressure control, making it versatile for use in pump discharge systems and distribution zones. Engineers should consider this valve for projects that demand reliable pressure regulation and check valve functionality, particularly in systems where maintaining upstream pressure is critical. The valve's design also enhances low-flow performance and cavitation resistance, making it a suitable choice for various hydraulic applications.
