The SP® 5.5P is a self-powered, bi-amplified, two-way speaker system engineered to provide a high level of performance in a compact powered loudspeaker. Capable of 130 dB peak SPL, this system can deliver a lot of sound. The Baltic Birch plywood trapezoidal cabinet and coated steel grille offer an attractive and durable powered speaker system without the traditional losses encountered in plastic cabinets due to vibration. This two-way powered system is comprised of a 800 W dynamic peak power amplifier driving a 15" BWX Black Widow® woofer. The RX22 compression driver is driven by a 200 W peak dynamic power amplifier and features a 2" titanium diaphragm coupled to an extremely smooth and pattern controlled constant directivity horn (with a coverage pattern of 90° H by 40° V. The asymmetrical Quadratic Throat Waveguide aims the coverage 30 degrees downward, directing the sound to your audience, not over their heads.
