A fixed low-pass filter provides an optimized, acoustic crossover between the full-range and subwoofer. The "clam shell" arrangement of the NTS22's two drivers provides tighter coupling to increase output and maximize LF "punch." The push-pull configuration means each cone "loads" the other in the opposite direction to smooth out any mechanical asymmetries in piston action. The result is significantly reduced distortion.
