The VSMY1850 is an infrared emitting diode with a peak wavelength of 850 nm, utilizing GaAlAs surface emitter technology. It is designed for high radiant intensity and optical power, making it suitable for applications such as IrDA compatible data transmission, miniature light barriers, and optical switches. The device is housed in a standard 0805 surface-mount package, measuring 2 x 1.25 x 0.85 mm, and is available in tape and reel packaging with a minimum order quantity of 3000 pieces. This emitter operates efficiently with a forward current of up to 100 mA and can handle peak forward currents of 200 mA for short durations. It features a half sensitivity angle of ¬±60¬8 and a rise and fall time of 10 ns, indicating its capability for high-speed applications. The operating temperature range is from -40¬8C to +85¬8C, and it has a moisture sensitivity level of 3, allowing for a floor life of 168 hours under specified conditions.
