Universal Wire Works Inc. Bare Wire Alloy C-276

Description
Alloy C-276 is a low carbon, nickel base alloy containing significant amounts of molybdenum and chromium. Alloy C-276 is one of the most universally corrosion resistant alloys available. This alloy resist the formation of grain-boundary precipitates in the weld heat affected zone, thus making it suitable for most chemical process applications in the as welded condition. Alloy C-276 has exceptional resistance to strong oxidizing agents such as ferric and cupric chlorides, hot contaminated mineral acids, acetic anhydride, sea water and brine solutions. Alloy C-276 is known to resist the corrosive effects of wet chlorine gas, hypochlorite and chlorine dioxide solutions. Alloy C-276 is resistant to oxidizing and reducing atmospheres up to 1900 degrees F and is particularly useful where parts are wither highly stressed or subject to repeated thermal shock at temperatures from 1600 to 1800 degrees F, which makes this alloy useful for hot metal handling equipment and forging hammers and rings.
