The 100 Series is an electromechanical pressure and temperature switch designed for alarm, safety, and emergency shutdown applications. It features a die-cast aluminum enclosure with epoxy powder coating, gasketed and captive cover screws, rated as enclosure type 4X. The switch has a single SPDT snap-action contact wired as normally open or normally closed, with electrical ratings of 15A at 125/250/480 VAC resistive and 2A resistive / 1A inductive at 24-30 VDC. It supports intrinsic safety for hazardous areas, certified as Ex ia IIC T6 Ga with operating ambient temperatures from -50°C to 60°C. The unit has a 1/2" NPT female electrical connection and two 7/8" diameter knockouts. It meets international standards including UL 508, CSA C22.2 No. 14, IEC 60079-0, IEC 60079-11, ATEX, IECEx, CCC, and SIL 2/SIL 3 certification when configured with optional codes. Weight ranges from 2 to 6 lbs depending on model configuration.
The 100 Series is simple to install and operate for alarm, safety and emergency shutdown applications where preserving process uptime, and protecting personnel and equipment are paramount. A rugged switch, the 100 Series is ideal for both heavy industry and the OEM, and carries global agency certification. As an electromechanical switch, it can safely operate independently of the control system and switch reliably when called upon, free from potential communication errors or cyber concerns. Typical applications that utilize the 100 Series include controlling rotating equipment - pumps, turbines, and compressors, heat tracing, fire suppression systems, and fuel/gas trains.
