1.1 These requirements cover the construction and security of night depository entrances. The units are intended to permit the deposit of cash, checks, and similar items, from outside a building into a chute connected to a depository within the building. 1.2 A night depository is intended primarily for protection against theft of deposits by: a) Fishing the deposits from the depository; b) Trapping the deposits by preventing them from entering the depository, and then extracting the deposits; and c) Entering the night depository by force with the aid of common burglary tools. 1.3 The term "product" as used in this standard refers to all night depositories or any part thereof covered by this standard unless specifically noted otherwise.
