This analog sensitivity is ideal for detecting full or partial objects, oddly shaped, or inconsistently sized or positioned objects. Also good for detecting objects with gaps or spaces, or for edge and diameter detection. Array fibers can do the job that would otherwise need to be done with costly multiple sensor pairs.
