The Type 03A and 03C have a convoluted design providing the greatest gap coverage over the smallest seal width. The Type 03D and 03E have a flatter profile (with less gap coverage), but are better suited for food or pharmaceutical applications because they are easier to clean. All Type 03 profiles are designed for a snap fit into a mating dovetail groove. These designs are typically not recommended for radial expansion inward applications.
