The TC74HC138APF is a high-speed CMOS 3-to-8 line decoder designed for low power dissipation and high noise immunity. It operates with a supply voltage range of 2 to 6 V and features a typical propagation delay of 16 ns at 5 V. The device includes three binary select inputs (A, B, and C) that determine which of the eight outputs (Y0 to Y7) will be activated. When the enable inputs are appropriately set, the decoder functions normally; otherwise, all outputs are set high. This decoder is capable of driving up to 10 LSTTL loads and has symmetrical output impedance of 4 mA minimum for both high and low states. It is pin and function compatible with the 74LS138 series, making it suitable for applications requiring a reliable address decoder in memory systems.
