The TVP5151 is an ultralow-power video decoder capable of processing NTSC, PAL, and SECAM video signals. It converts these signals into an 8-bit ITU-R BT.656 format, supporting both composite and S-video inputs. The device features a high-speed 9-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC) and operates with a typical power consumption of 138 mW, dropping to less than 1 mW in power-down mode, making it suitable for battery-operated applications. The decoder includes advanced features such as Macrovision copy protection detection, programmable video output formats, and a robust sync detector. It also supports vertical blanking interval (VBI) data retrieval, allowing for the extraction of teletext and closed-caption information. The TVP5151 can be configured via an I¬=C interface and is available in a compact 48-terminal PBGA or 32-terminal TQFP package. Its operating temperature range is from -40¬8C to 85¬8C, making it suitable for industrial applications.
