The TPS40042DRCR is a low pin count, low input voltage synchronous buck DC-DC controller designed for applications requiring an input voltage range of 3.0 V to 5.5 V. It features an external reference input that allows for output voltage regulation from 0.5 V to 90% of VIN. The device operates at a fixed switching frequency of 600 kHz and supports pre-biased outputs, making it suitable for various applications including DDR memory, point of load, telecommunications, and DC-DC modules.
