The SLK2701IPZP is a multirate transceiver designed for SONET/SDH applications, capable of supporting data rates of OC-48, OC-24, OC-12, and OC-3 through configurable rate selection pins or autorate detection. It integrates clock and data recovery, serial-to-parallel and parallel-to-serial conversion, and frame detection functions compliant with SONET/SDH standards. The device operates with a single 2.5-V power supply and is characterized for a temperature range of -40¬8C to 85¬8C, dissipating less than 900 mW at the OC-48 data rate. The transceiver features a low jitter, PECL-compatible differential serial interface with programmable de-emphasis and on-chip termination for LVDS and PECL interfaces. It supports a forward error correction (FEC) data rate of up to 2.7 Gbps and includes built-in self-test capabilities such as local and remote loopback and pseudorandom bit stream (PRBS) generation and verification.
