AC-DC converters have the functionality to extract a stable DC power supply by rectifying and controlling commercial power supplies. TDK offers an abundant lineup of TDK-Lambda brand AC-DC switching power supplies that adopt the "switching method" for the industrial equipment market. These power supplies are available in unit types, PC board types, power module types, on-board types, and DIN rail mount types, with a wide-ranging product lineup from models with a small capacity of several W to models with a large capacity exceeding 2 kW. TDK-Lambda offers "standard power supplies" that meet the various needs of its customers for keeping up with the changing times, including miniaturization and efficiency enhancement, compliance with safety standards, support for wide input, compliance with EMI (electromagnetic interference) standards and higher harmonic current regulation, compliance with the RoHS directive, and the adoption of digital control technologies.
The compact CUS400M series of single output AC-DC power supplies are available with 12V, 15V, 19V, 24V, 28V, 36V and 48V outputs in an industry standard 3 x 5 inch package and can deliver 400W with forced air cooling or 250W with 400W peak power for extended periods of time when convection or conduction cooled. CUS400M can be used in both Class I and Class II (no earth wire) applications and offers efficiencies of up to 94%. An option board providing a 5V 2A or 12V 1A standby voltage, remote on/off, remote sense, DC OK signal and AC fail signal is available. Mechanical options include metal base plate, U channel, cover and top mounted integral fan. Safety certifications include IEC/EN/ES 60601-1 and IEC/EN/UL 62368-1 with CE marking for the Low Voltage, EMC and RoHS Directives. The units also comply with EN 55011-B and EN 55032-B conducted and radiated emissions and meet the EN 61000-3-2 harmonics, IEC60601-1-2 Edition 4 and IEC 61000-4 immunity standards. Typical applications include medical (B and BF type), home healthcare, dental, test and measurement, broadcast, professional audio and industrial equipment.
