Maxell 33 Minute DVCPro HD Videotape: DVPHD-33EMDeveloped for use in High Definition Television environments, Maxell has used its knowledge of high definition acquired while making D-5 and HDCAM to create a highly reliable and stable DVCPro HD tape. Each DVCPro red lid HD tape from Maxell features a high precision cassette shell. The enhanced cassette shell makes recording in extreme outdoor environments possible, and keeps tape operation stable. The DVPHD-33EM offers a low error rate because the ceramic armor metal tapes use a specialized calendering technology to achieve high levels of output and low noise. The tape surface features an optimum level of smoothness that increases the C/N ratio.Long-term storage is not a problem with Maxell's Ceramic Armor Metal Particles and durable binder system. The 33EM cassette is also resistant to heat and oxidation making it durable, reliable and perfect for archiving.* High Definition LP ModeDVCPRO equipment that is capable of recording in DVCPRO HD-LP mode (a.k.a EX format) utilizes a more precise record head that has the ability to record a track pitch that is only 9-microns wide. That is half as wide as the conventional DVCPRO record heads, which is 18-microns. Therefore, when using the DVCPRO HD-LP mode it is possible to double the record time without any loss of quality. As of now, the only DVCPRO equipment that is capable of recording in the 9-micron mode are: AJ-HD1700, AJ-HD1200, and AJ-HD1400 decks as well as the new AJ-HDX-900 camera.
