The Sumitomo HF430α flux vector drives, with updated features, replace the HF430; all sizes are dimensional drop-ins. Note that drop-in and non-drop-in versions of the 7.5 HP models are available. Sumitomo HF430α AC Drives incorporate a three-drives-in-one design philosophy. The design provides Simple V/F (Volts-per Hertz) Constant Torque (CT) mode, Sensorless Vector (SLV) mode, and Closed-Loop Vector (CLV) mode. Switch to SLV control by simply changing a parameter value. SLV control offers 200% stating torque at 0.3 Hz and ±0.5% speed regulation. Closed-Loop Vector (CLV) control is available by installing a low-cost encoder feedback card and changing a parameter value. Of course, the motor must be equipped with a suitable encoder. CLV control dramatically improves performance. CLV control offers full rated torque down to zero speed and 200% starting torque at 0.0 Hz. HF430α AC drives are available from 1/2 to 75 HP, 200-240V and 1 to 75 HP, 380-480V. All HF430α AC drives are suitable for 50 Hz or 60 Hz input.
