The VNQ7140AJ-E is a quad channel high-side driver designed for automotive applications, capable of operating within a voltage range of 4 to 28 V and handling a maximum transient supply voltage of 40 V. It features a typical on-state resistance of 140 mΩ per channel and can limit current to a typical value of 12 A. The device is characterized by a very low standby current of 0.5 µA, making it suitable for low-power applications. This driver is automotive qualified and compatible with both 3 V and 5 V CMOS outputs. It incorporates advanced diagnostic functions, including overload and short to ground indication, thermal shutdown indication, and OFF-state open-load detection. The VNQ7140AJ-E also provides multiplexed analog feedback for load current, supply voltage, and chip temperature, enhancing its diagnostic capabilities. Protection features include undervoltage shutdown, overvoltage clamp, and self-limiting of fast thermal transients. The device is housed in a PowerSSO-16 package, making it suitable for driving various automotive resistive, inductive, and capacitive loads, particularly signal lamps and LED combinations.
