The H/w Security Mod-SFI V2, STM32 Dev Board is designed to enhance the security of firmware installation for STM32 products. It features genuine firmware identification and supports secure firmware installation (SFI) functionality, which is crucial for preventing product counterfeiting during manufacturing. The module allows for the management of STMicroelectronics public keys and enables license generation using a customer-defined firmware encryption key. This hardware security module facilitates the secure downloading of customer firmware to STM32 devices equipped with a secure bootloader. It integrates with the STM32CubeProgrammer and STM32 Trusted Package Creator software tools, allowing original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to define firmware encryption keys and set limits on the number of authorized SFI operations. Each STM32HSM-V2 HSM can be configured to allow a specific number of SFI operations before being permanently deactivated, ensuring controlled and secure firmware deployment.
