The STAP16DPPS05XTTR is a 16-bit constant current LED driver designed for LED panel displays, featuring a serial-in, parallel-out shift register and a 16-bit D-type storage register. It provides 16 regulated current sources capable of delivering 3 to 40 mA to drive LEDs. The device includes open and short LED detection capabilities, allowing it to identify faults such as short circuits to ground or supply voltage, as well as open lines. This detection is integrated without increasing the pin count, utilizing the output enable and latch pins for dual functionality. The output current can be adjusted using an external resistor, enabling control over LED brightness from 0% to 100%. The driver operates with a supply voltage range of 3 V to 5.5 V and supports a maximum clock frequency of 30 MHz, making it suitable for high-volume data transmission applications. It also features an auto power-saving mode and thermal shutdown for overtemperature protection.
