The ST485ERBDR is a low-power RS-485/RS-422 transceiver designed for half-duplex communication on multipoint bus transmission lines. The device is capable of withstanding electrostatic discharge (ESD) of ±15 kV (HBM) and ±8 kV (IEC-1000-4-2 contact discharge), ensuring robust performance in harsh environments. This transceiver supports a common mode input voltage range of 7 V to 12 V and allows for the connection of up to 64 transceivers on the bus. It includes built-in current limiting and thermal shutdown protection to prevent driver overload. The driver maintains a high impedance state in 3-state conditions or when powered off, with a typical input hysteresis of 70 mV.
