The M48T248Y-70PM1 is a Real Time Clock (RTC) integrated circuit that operates at either 5.0V or 3.3V. It features a 1024K TIMEKEEPER® SRAM with a built-in clock function that tracks time down to tenths of seconds, including seconds, minutes, hours, days, and years, with automatic leap year correction valid until the year 2100. The device includes automatic switch-over and deselect circuitry, with a choice of power-fail deselect voltages ranging from 4.25V to 4.50V. This RTC provides over 10 years of data retention in the absence of power, making it suitable for applications requiring reliable timekeeping. The watch function operates transparently to RAM operations, allowing it to replace volatile static RAM or EEPROM directly.
