The L297 Stepper Motor Controller IC is designed for controlling two-phase bipolar and four-phase unipolar step motors in microcomputer applications. The device operates within a temperature range of -40 to 150 degrees Celsius and has a supply voltage requirement of 10V. It is available in DIP20 and SO20 packages, making it compatible with monolithic bridge drivers like the L298N or L293E, as well as discrete transistors.
