A primary goal of the course is to provide the attendee with a review and explanation of laser safety considerations and requirements incumbent on a designer when bringing a product that contains a laser to market. Attendees will also obtain an understanding of laser safety considerations in the R&D environment. This includes being able to communicate the eye safety concerns & required protections for laser products as well as their hazard classification (on the internationally harmonized Classification scale for laser hazards).
