The Si5338A-B07187-GM is a quad clock generator that utilizes low power MultiSynth,Ñ¢ technology, enabling the synthesis of any frequency on four independent output drivers. It supports PCIe Gen 1/2/3/4 common clock requirements and offers highly configurable output options, including up to four differential outputs and eight single-ended clock outputs. The device features a low phase jitter of 0.7 ps RMS typical and provides true zero ppm frequency accuracy across all outputs. The Si5338 allows for flexible input reference options, accommodating external crystals and various CMOS, SSTL/HSTL, and differential inputs with frequencies ranging from 5 MHz to 710 MHz. Each output can be independently configured to support multiple signal formats, including LVPECL, LVDS, HCSL, and CMOS, with voltage options of 1.5, 1.8, 2.5, or 3.3 V. Additional features include independent frequency increment/decrement for glitchless adjustments, phase adjustment accuracy of less than 20 ps, and configurable spread spectrum capabilities. The device operates from a single supply core with a typical current consumption of 45 mA and is rated for a wide temperature range of -40 to +85 °C. The Si5338 is packaged in a compact 4x4 mm, 24-QFN format, making it suitable for various applications, including Ethernet switches, processors, and telecom line cards.
