The Si570 and Si571 from Skyworks Solutions are programmable crystal oscillators (XO) and voltage-controlled crystal oscillators (VCXO) that operate within a frequency range of 10 MHz to 1.4 GHz. These devices utilize advanced DSPLL® circuitry, allowing for low-jitter clock generation with less than 1 part per billion (ppb) resolution. The programming is facilitated through an I²C serial interface, enabling users to select any output frequency from 10 to 945 MHz and specific frequencies up to 1.4 GHz without the need for multiple crystals. The Si570/Si571 series offers various output types, including LVPECL, CMOS, LVDS, and CML, and is housed in an industry-standard 5x7 mm package. The internal fixed-frequency crystal ensures high reliability and low aging, while the DSPLL clock synthesis provides superior supply noise rejection, making these oscillators suitable for applications in communication systems, high-performance instrumentation, and optical modules.
