Thermal Mass Flow Meters - QuadraTherm® 780i QuadraTherm® 780i inline thermal mass flow meters from Sierra Instruments offer the most accurate gas mass flow rate measurement on the market today, achieving gas mass flow rate accuracy never before possible, +/- 0.5% of reading above 50% of full scale. Sierra's 780i thermal mass flow meters provide wide turndown ratio, very low pressure drop, no moving parts, application flexibility and a direct gas mass flow rate measurement. The four-sensor QuadraTherm technology used in our air flow measurement devices gives you extreme precision with “percent of reading” accuracy as part of the total package. Sierra's air flow measurement equipment is ideal for wastewater treatment applications, hazardous areas, facilities management, and general process control applications where high accuracy is critical. Instrument software also features a unique multi-gas flow totalizer. An insertion version of this instrument is also available. The four-sensor QuadraTherm technology , ideal for compressed air flow measurement, features our no-drift DrySense velocity sensor and works with the qTherm algorithm set to achieve accuracy of +/- 0.5% of reading above 50% of full scale. (Accuracy statement verified by an independent NIST and NVLAP accredited metrology laboratory.) The qTherm is also the "brain" behind the flowmeter’s capability to change gas (Dial-A-Gas) and pipe size (Dial-A-Pipe) in the field, while also allowing gas updates to the instrument via the internet connecting to the most up to date gases in our proprietary qTherm Gas Library. More Accurate Air Flow Measurement in Tight Spaces Built-in flow conditioning elements drastically reduce upstream straight-run requirements, making the meter ideal for tight pipe configurations. For example, after a 90-degree elbow, 15-diameters of pipe run would be required. The 780i only needs 1-diameter and zero downstream diameters. The instrument measures up to 60,000 sfpm (305 smps) and features a 100:1 turndown. In addition, while the meter always provides in-line air flow measurement of mass flow rate and temperature, the addition of a pressure sensor to the sensor probe creates a fully multivariable version. The ability to change gases and pipe sizes in the field adds to the ease of use and flexibility of the instrument for highly accurate air flow velocity measurement. Use the field calibration validation and meter diagnostics package to assure the meter is always operating at top performance for all your air flow measurement needs.
