The water level tape reel unit includes a submersible sensor which is lower into the well or borehole unitl the buzzer sounds and the LED bulb lights up indicating that the probe has touched the water. The sensitivity of the sensor can be adjusted to prevent false readings triggered by running water or condensation.
The black tape print is protected by the durable polyethylene jacket and is avialble in metres or feet graduations. In order for the readings to be more visible to the eye the print is set on a yellow background.
The probe is constructed from stainless steel and Teflon and has a diameter of 16mm (0.63 inches). It is sealed for submersible use and tested to the maximum depth of 600 metres (2000 feet). When the probe touches the water it will emit a signal to the reel electronic unit which triggers an audible alarm and activates an LED. After a short while the audible alarm will turn off automatically. The electronic warning module is powered via a 9v battery.
The reel consists of either a rugged nylon (<= 150m/500ft) or a aluminium (> 150m/500ft) spool mounted on a stainless steel axle and steel frame with a combined handle, reel lock and casing hanger.
