The SC5010HULTRT-01 is an 8-channel step-up (boost) LED driver designed for backlight applications, featuring a wide input voltage range of 4.5V to 27V and an output voltage capability of up to 50V. It supports flexible output configurations and offers both analog and PWM dimming with a resolution of 9 or 10 bits, adjustable over a dimming frequency range of 100Hz to 20kHz. The device includes an I¬=C interface for control and synchronization with video signals (VSYNC), along with phase-shifted PWM dimming to enhance dimming linearity and reduce electromagnetic interference (EMI). The SC5010HULTRT-01 is equipped with programmable switching frequencies from 200kHz to 2.2MHz, ensuring high efficiency by dynamically optimizing output voltage while maintaining current accuracy within ¬±2%. Each of the eight linear current sinks is matched within ¬±1% for uniform lighting. Additional features include an optional external p-MOSFET for true load disconnection and inrush current limiting, as well as multiple protection mechanisms for open/shorted LEDs, over-temperature, and under-voltage lockout (UVLO). This LED driver is housed in a low-profile, thermally enhanced 28-pin QFN package measuring 4mm x 4mm x 0.6mm, making it suitable for applications in notebook PCs, UMPCs, LCD monitors, and tablet PCs.
