The SC172 is a synchronous step-down DC-DC converter designed for efficient power management in various applications. It operates with an input voltage range of 3V to 5.5V and can deliver an output current of up to 2A. The output voltage is programmable from 0.75V to 95% of the input voltage, allowing flexibility in design. This converter features a peak efficiency of up to 95% and incorporates low R_DS(ON) internal switches, which contribute to its high performance. The patented adaptive on-time control architecture ensures excellent transient response and allows for programmable pseudo-fixed frequency operation, adjustable from 200kHz to 1MHz. This capability helps reduce external LC filtering and minimizes light load losses. Additional protective features include cycle-by-cycle current limit, soft start, input under-voltage lockout (UVLO), output over-voltage protection, and over-temperature protection. The device is packaged in a compact, thermally enhanced MLPD-10 3x3mm package, making it suitable for space-constrained applications.
