Semtech Corp. Clock/Timing - Application Specific ACS8522T

The ACS8522T is a highly integrated, single-chip synchronous equipment timing source designed for SONET and SDH network elements. It generates SONET or SDH equipment clocks and frame synchronization clocks, fully compliant with international specifications. The device supports multiple operational modes, including Free-run, Locked, and Holdover, with automatic or manual mode selection. It accepts up to four independent input SEC reference clock sources and generates multiple output clocks, including independent SEC and BITS clocks, along with 8 kHz and 2 kHz synchronization clocks. The ACS8522T features a programmable PLL bandwidth for wander and jitter tracking, automatic hit-less source switchover, and output phase adjustment in 6 ps steps. The device operates on a single 3.3 V supply, is 5 V tolerant, and is available in a lead-free version compliant with RoHS and WEEE standards. It includes a serial port for configuration and status monitoring, as well as IEEE 1149.1 JTAG boundary scan support. The ACS8522T is suitable for applications requiring Stratum 3, 4E, 4, and SONET Minimum Clock specifications.
